The Fear of the Lord is the Beginning (and He mentionned that is only the beginning) of wisdom

By Marie Buchanan, M.Ps.

A) In Rev. 20:8, God CLEARLY SAYS who is going to burn in hell for eternity:

as for the cowards and the ignoble and the contemptible and the
cravenly lacking in courage and the cowardly submissive, and as for the
unbelieving and faithless, and
as for the depraved
and defiled with abominations, and as for murderers and the lewd and
adulterous and the practicers of magic arts and the idolaters (those
who give supreme devotion to anyone or anything other than God) and all
liars (those who knowingly convey untruth by word or deed)–[all of
these shall have] their part in the lake that blazes with fire and
brimstone. This is the second death". [Isa 30:33.] AMP

B) God CLEARLY SAYS that Christians need to abstain from all sexual impurity:

15:20: "But we should send word to them in writing to abstain from and
avoid anything that has been polluted by being offered to idols,
and all sexual impurity, and [eating meat of animals] that have been strangled, and [tasting of] blood.

Acts 21:25 But with regard to the Gentiles who have believed (adhered
to, trusted in, and relied on Christ), we have sent them a letter with
our decision that they should keep themselves free from anything that
has been sacrificed to idols and from [tasting] blood and [eating the
meat of animals] which have been strangled and
from all impurity and sexual immorality.

14 And God both raised the Lord to life and will also raise us up by His power.
15 Do you not see and know that your bodies are members (bodily parts)
of Christ (the Messiah)? Am I therefore to take the parts of Christ and
make [them] parts of a prostitute? Never! Never!
16 Or do you not
know and realize that when a man joins himself to a prostitute, he
becomes one body with her? The two, it is written, shall become one
flesh. [Gen 2:24.]
17 But the person who is united to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.
Shun immorality and all sexual looseness [flee from impurity in
thought, word, or deed]. Any other sin which a man commits is one
outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his
own body.

19 Do you not know that your body is the
temple (the very sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit Who lives within you,
Whom you have received [as a Gift] from God? You are not your own,
20 You were bought with a price [purchased with a preciousness and paid
for, made His own]. So then, honor God and bring glory to Him in your

Eph 5:3 "But fornication , and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints".

In case you would wonder what is fornication:

Webster’s 1828 definition
FORNICA’TION, n. [L. fornicatio.]

The incontinence or lewdness of unmarried persons, male or female;
also, the criminal conversation of a married man with an unmarried
My comments:
If criminal conversation between a married man and a unwoman is
fornication then masturbation or self-abuse is entering in this
category as well. Most evangelical folks need a draw nowadays because
their conscience is not sensitive as it should be or seared with a hot
iron – .

2. Adultery. Matt. 5.

3. Incest. 1Cor. 5.

4. Idolatry; a forsaking of the true God, and worshipping of idols. 2Chron. 21. Rev. 19.

Col 3: 5 "So
kill (deaden, deprive of power) the evil desire lurking in your members
[those animal impulses and all that is earthly in you that is employed
in sin]: sexual vice, impurity, sensual appetites, unholy desires,
and all greed and covetousness, for that is idolatry (the deifying of self and other created things instead of God). AMP

1 Thess 4:3 For this is the will of God, that you should be consecrated
(separated and set apart for pure and holy living): that you should
abstain and shrink from all sexual vice, AMP

Jude 7[ The wicked are sentenced to suffer] just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the adjacent towns–which
likewise gave themselves over to impurity and indulged in unnatural
vice and sensual perversity–are laid out [in plain sight] as an
exhibit of perpetual punishment [to warn] of everlasting fire. [Gen

C) The Apostle Paul reminds that we need to fear the Lord in 1 Cor. 10:8

must not gratify evil desire and indulge in immorality as some of them
did–and twenty-three thousand [suddenly] fell dead in a single day"!
[Num 25.]
